Where I practice
Hello! Welcome to my Web page. My name is Il Park and I am an Ob/Gyn at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center.
I’m originally from Korea. I graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine, and have been practicing obstetrics and gynecology, and pelvic surgery at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center for over 20 years. I trained in Anesthesiology at the University of Chicago and Eastern Virginia Medical School. I also completed an Ob/Gyn and pelvic surgery fellowship at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. In all, my medical training gave me opportunities to live in the Midwest, the East Coast, and now the West Coast. Southern California has been my home for over 20 years.
About my practice
My practice is mainly in gynecology and pelvic surgery. I had a year of surgical fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, and my practice also includes some complicated gynecologic surgeries. I am currently leading the colposcopy clinic at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center and am a member of the Regional Gynecologic Oncology and Pelvic Surgery Committee.
How I thrive
I stay well by staying humble, trying to remain reasonable at all times, and doing my best. I used to enjoy playing tennis, but gave it up after a shoulder injury, and have since picked up golf. I love to hike the local mountains or the national parks. Most of all, I like to spend time with my family. Attending classical music concerts has been a lifelong hobby of mine.
