My gender: Female
Where I practice
I completed my training in gastroenterology and hepatology in 2006 and worked with the liver transplant team at UC San Diego until 2015. I continue to provide pre- and post-transplant care (in addition to general hepatology and gastrointestinal procedures) to Kaiser Permanente members. It is an honor and a pleasure to work with my colleagues in gastroenterology to provide liver care to our members in San Diego.
I grew up in Michigan and completed my undergraduate, medical school, and medical residency training in the Midwest. In 2001, I moved with my husband to San Diego, and we remain happy to call sunny Southern California home. We have 2 children and enjoy yoga, hiking, and cooking. I also make pottery in my free time.
About my practice
My practice is composed of members with a variety of acute and chronic liver diseases, including abnormal liver tests, fatty liver, viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. I am a strong advocate for member education. In order to get optimal care, it is vital that people have a good understanding of their illnesses. I also focus on the role of nutrition in health and disease.
How I thrive
I am a strong believer in a healthy diet, regular exercise, plenty of sleep, and surrounding myself with family and friends (this is a good formula for happiness and health). A positive attitude, gratitude, and humor are also key to good quality of life. I feel very fortunate to have regular access to a pottery studio as a creative outlet.
