Thank you for visiting my Kaiser Permanente Web page. I hope that by reading the information presented here, you will gain some insight into who I am as a physician and what I do to help keep patients healthy.
I am a Southern California native, born and raised in Los Angeles. I attended UCLA for my undergraduate education and I remain a very dedicated Bruin fan. I loved math and science and this led me to major in biochemistry. While at UCLA, I realized that I loved working with people. THIS led me to pursue a career in medicine and I attended the George Washington University Medical School. I eventually chose pediatrics as a specialty, and neonatology as a subspecialty because of the positive effects this care has on patients and their families.
I finished my fellowship training in 1987 and since then have been primarily involved in providing care for premature and newborn infants (neonatology). You will most likely see me in the setting of the neonatal intensive care unit or pediatric ward, working with other dedicated team members. I strive to establish a good rapport with my families and to help them understand the condition of their loved ones.
Knowing that my patients put their trust in me gives me a terrific feeling, and highly motivates me. I stay healthy by exercising every day on my bike. This really energizes me and keeps me in great shape.
