Where I practice
I grew up in New Jersey and attended Muhlenberg College, a small liberal arts college in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I graduated from the College of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey Medical School in Newark. I completed my general surgery training at the same institution. Then I spent a year as a registrar for the National Health Service in Edinburgh, Scotland, in general and pediatric surgery. I have been a general surgeon here at Kaiser Permanente in West Los Angeles since 1977, and I feel very fortunate to practice in this excellent department and hospital.
I am extremely proud of the accomplishments of the surgical departments throughout our hospital, which use current technologies and offer an impressive array of minimally invasive procedures. Our department staff includes receptionists, nurses, and physicians, all of whom are focused on providing high-quality care to all our patients.
About my practice
Over my 30-plus years as a general surgeon, I have performed a wide variety of procedures. In addition to the various open and laparoscopic procedures I perform on adults, I perform common surgical procedures on infants and children.
How I thrive
My wife and I enjoy traveling and visiting our three adult daughters, who are living in the Midwest and on the East Coast. I enjoy cycling, swimming, eating well, and staying fit.
