About me
Welcome to my Web page. I’m a dermatologist who has been practicing at Kaiser Permanente since 1992.
Biography
I specialize in medical dermatology, but that’s a big area—there are over 3,000 skin diseases! I’m also a writer. I’ve sold more than 50,000 dermatology color atlases and textbooks over the last 15 years. I’m published in eight languages. My goal is to know every dermatologic disease. If you have a difficult or challenging skin condition, feel free to come see me. My family consists of physicists, computer engineers, software programmers, and a speech pathologist. I’m the only doctor. We all love the sciences, but I love medicine because it allows me to work with people every day.
About my practice
My goal at work is to fix every skin problem that I possibly can. In the process, I want every member to be well-informed about his or her disease. I think an informed member is the best patient. My nurse and I team up with our members in facing any challenges that arise. I utilize time in the office to explain what is going on with a member’s skin, and I reinforce it with handouts the member takes home. Finally, I work very hard to stay on time. Your time is important and I hate to make you wait.
How I thrive
I love to work out, although I should do more. I love to go to movies on the weekend with my wife. The best measure of the quality of a movie is if it has a good car chase! My favorite movie of all time is The Bourne Identity.
