Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am a board-certified family medicine physician who has been with Kaiser Permanente Riverside since 1987. As of December 2014 , I was selected to serve as area medical director for the Riverside service area. It is quite an honor to have been selected to lead such a wonderful group of colleagues. My focus is to have our medical center provide the highest quality care and service to our Kaiser Permanente members.
I am originally from South Carolina where I grew up on a dairy farm. I am extremely appreciative of having wonderful parents who encouraged me to follow my desire to become a physician. I received all of my formal education in South Carolina until I came to California to do my residency training. After completing my three years of family medicine residency, I worked for two years as a civilian physician for the United States military in Bremerhaven, Germany. I then decided to move back to sunny California and joined Kaiser Permanente in 1987.
About my practice
I am honored to have been selected as the area medical director for the Riverside service area. In this role, I am privileged to have a greater influence on the care of all of the members that we serve. I am committed to leading our medical center in providing the best possible care for anyone with chronic conditions, as well as to strongly promoting prevention and wellness for our members. My golden rule is to treat our members as we would want someone to treat our own family.
How I thrive
I most enjoy being outside working in my yard and garden—it probably brings me back a little bit to my happy childhood growing up on a farm. Running and walking my dogs help both my body and mind stay healthy. I enjoy biking as well.
