Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I love what I do and look forward to being your personal physician.
I was born in Iran, grew up in Irvine, and did most of my training in Northern California. I went to UC Berkeley for my bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology and Persian literature, and then received a master’s degree in public health. I worked in public health for some time with the United Nations in Tehran and New York. I did my medical school training at Touro University, also in Northern California, and then my residency in internal medicine at Alameda County Medical Center. The reason I love primary care is that it is the place where public health meets medicine and where prevention can have a real impact on human lives.
About my practice
I am an osteopath and an internist. I believe in treating the whole person and caring for my patients as they would want to be cared for. I am a strong proponent of prevention, medicine based on current evidence and research, and keeping my patients from harm. This may include lifestyle changes, mind and body work, or medication for prevention. I like to be motivational when talking with my patients and giving them time and space for healing.
How I thrive
I want to stay healthy along with our members. I rejuvenate by playing with my daughter and baby son and spending time with family and friends. I keep healthy through yoga and swimming.
