Welcome to my Web page! I'm Dr. Eric Lever, and I’m a gastroenterologist practicing at the Garden Medical Offices in Downey and at the Bellflower Medical Offices. I love being at Kaiser Permanente because it allows me to focus on providing high-quality care to our members instead of having to manage the paperwork and business details of running a private office.
I was born in South Carolina, but grew up in Encino, California. My wife and I currently have one dog—a Maltese. My father is a retired doctor, and I have one sister who lives in the Bay Area. In addition, I have two sons and a daughter in graduate school as well as another daughter in college. I was educated in the Bay Area, but returned to Southern California because I missed the weather, the lifestyle, and, of course, my family. I became a doctor because I like to help people. I became a gastroenterologist because I love internal medicine and find the gastrointestinal system absolutely fascinating.
In my practice, I treat gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and biliary disorders. I specialize in endoscopic treatment of biliary disorders, but I consider myself a jack-of-all-trades. In our department, we do diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy as well as screenings and consultations. My staff and I strive to give high-quality medical care and friendly, personalized service. We care about our members, and we hope it shows!
I love to exercise, play tennis, ski, run, and ride my bike. I'm an avid basketball fan and a Lakers season ticket holder. I believe that exercise is the key to good health and long life. It lowers the blood pressure, strengthens the heart, relieves stress, and increases one's sense of well-being. I think the key to feeling young is to be active and to take time for having fun!
