Welcome to my Web page. I’m delighted to have this chance to introduce myself to you. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work for Kaiser Permanente since 1989. I have met many wonderful colleagues and patients and have developed some lifelong friendships.
I was born in Japan but immigrated with my parents to America when I was 6 months old. We lived our first five years in Northern California near Stanford University, where my father was an assistant professor in pharmacology. We then moved to Hawaii, where I grew up and had my education. I still consider Hawaii home and visit often.
I’ve come to know many wonderful people during the past 25 years at Kaiser Permanente. Some of my patients I’ve known since their birth, and they are now becoming parents. It’s really a joy to watch these children grow up, and I feel like I’m a part of their family.
Most of my patients and colleagues know that I’m a dog lover. My husband and nurse would actually say I’m a crazy dog lover. I have five dogs; four of them are rescues. My life revolves around my work and my dogs. If I’m not at work, you may find me at the mall with my dogs in a stroller! :) Yes, I’m one of “those.”
