Edward Gene Hersh, MD
I speak: English
My gender: Male
Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page, and thank you for your interest. I practice general obstetrics and gynecology, which includes an active office practice, general gynecological surgery, prenatal care, and hospital obstetrics.
I grew up in Pittsburgh and attended Kenyon College in Ohio. I went to medical school in North Carolina and received my training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. I decided to become a doctor because my parents instilled in me the importance of helping others. I chose obstetrics and gynecology because of my interest in genetics and embryology, and I enjoy practicing this specialty because many conditions can be helped or resolved with medication or surgery.
About my practice
I practice in a multispecialty group practice because I believe this provides for a higher quality of medicine. I chose Kaiser Permanente for its system of care, which allows me to focus on members instead of worrying about maintaining a business.
How I thrive
I live well by exercising on a regular basis. I walk every day, either on the treadmill or with my dog, and often work out with weights or on machines. I relax by listening to music and seeing movies or live theatre, and I promote my creativity by cooking. I enjoy swimming, bicycling, walking on the beach, and above all, spending time with my family.
