Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I’m pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I am committed to providing high-quality care to you and your family.
I grew up in a family of physicians and knew at an early age that medicine was for me. I like to say that psychiatry chose me during medical school. The field of psychiatry is rapidly expanding and reflects a greater understanding of the human brain and the mind-body connection. As our knowledge grows about mental illness, so too does the availability and precision of available treatments. For this reason, I continue to thrive as a psychiatrist, as it affords me the opportunity to practice daily what I find fascinating, embark on new learning opportunities, and get to know my community as well as give back to it in a more personal way.
About my practice
I believe that the art of medicine involves a collaborative approach involving the patient, his or her physician, and any other treatment providers. At times, involving family or caregivers is vital for compiling a proper patient history or developing a treatment plan. I encourage you to participate fully in the medical decision-making process and to engage actively in treatment. I utilize a wide array of services within Kaiser Permanente, including medication management, therapy, advice nurses, clinic- and hospital-based group programs, exercise programs, and self-help resources.
How I thrive
Keeping balance between my professional and family lives is very important to me. I keep active by taking my new puppy walking every morning and then playing vigorously with my children after work. I also love to play jazz music on my saxophone and listen to the greats, such as Charlie Parker and John Coltrane.
