Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician at Kaiser Permanente.
After finishing my undergraduate education at Stanford University as a psychology major, and a few other detours — including backpacking in the West, a year with AmeriCorp, and working as a kindergarten teaching assistant — I changed course and decided to pursue a career in medicine. This led to medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, a surgical intern year at University of California - San Francisco, and an otolaryngology/head and neck surgery residency at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. It was there that I became a great fan of the Kaiser Permanente system and jumped at the chance to continue working at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego.
About my practice
I am part of a great team of head and neck surgeons, physician assistants, and nurses in our department. I treat a full range of ear, nose, and throat conditions in both children and adults. My days are split between seeing patients in the medical facility and operating. I also am part of our skin cancer team, and help with the surgical management of complex skin cancer.
How I thrive
I thrive by having a great job that makes me want to come to work every day. I am grateful for my wonderful wife and 3 young children. I also try to stay active by fitting in a swim or some kind of exercise a few times a week.
