I'm pleased to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's important that you feel comfortable with your physician.
After eight years of medical school and residency in Los Angeles, my wife, a pediatrician, and I spent four years working for the U.S. Public Health Service on the Yakima Indian Reservation in Washington State. When it was time to move on, I considered only Kaiser Permanente positions. Four great years as a Kaiser Permanente resident had sold me on the program. We have been in San Diego for over 20 years. It's been a great place to raise our three sons, who are now adults. We still spend lots of time with them and their friends.
As an obstetrics and gynecology specialist, I feel a responsibility to help our members with their contraceptive needs. I have led the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Unintended Pregnancy Task Force for the last decade. We work to constantly improve birth control services. In this vein, I have a special interest in helping members who have difficulty finding a birth control method that works for them. I provide service to my patients to the best of my ability. I love my practice. Most of the patients I see are Kaiser Permanente members.
I work hard at caring for my body. I'm a vegetarian and row, hike or swim almost daily. Most importantly, I start and end each day with a period of meditation and prayer.
