Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page! I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself. I’ve practiced adult cardiology here at our Fontana Medical Center since completing my fellowship at Loma Linda University in June of 1990.
I was born in the Midwest, but grew up in Southern California. My father was a professor of endocrinology at Loma Linda University Medical Center and he encouraged me to study medicine. I’m a single mother of two. Our family also includes three dogs, four parakeets, and several goldfish. I love to garden and hope to have time to resume quilting someday.
About my practice
My practice includes all areas of adult cardiology. These include coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and rhythm disturbances. I especially enjoy echocardiography, as it provides an excellent window for viewing cardiac structures. Our cardiology group works as a team to provide high-quality care. I try to provide weekend clinic care when possible—as a single parent I know how difficult it can be to cover all the bases in life. I’m glad I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente for many reasons. One of the most important reasons is the opportunity to get to know so many wonderful members. I think that one of my most important tasks is to teach people about their medical conditions so we can work together to limit their disease processes.
How I thrive
I think caring for oneself is of the utmost importance. I try to maintain a healthy diet and I exercise with my trainer or in my garden several times per week. I love to read, not just about medicine, but also about architecture, interior design, gardening, and human-interest topics. Sometimes I just rest to recharge my batteries.
