Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
A native of Germany, I graduated from medical school in Aachen, Germany, and first came to San Diego in 1986 to spend a year doing medical research at UC San Diego. This is where I met my husband (now of more than 20 years) and fell in love not only with him but also with the sunny weather. I decided to make Southern California my home for good. We enjoy our two adult kids and live a very active lifestyle. I enjoy hiking and the outdoors, and I try to spend as much time as possible pursuing my lifelong passion for classical horseback riding. I completed my American residency in family medicine at UC San Diego and have been working with Kaiser Permanente in the same city ever since.
About my practice
As your partner in health, I emphasize healthy living and preventive care as the best ways to stay healthy, but I am also here to help if you or one of your family members becomes sick. I’m very interested in taking care of both you and your family members. I’ve found that when I work with a family as a unit, it helps the family members promote one another’s health. I am proud of having been named “Top Doc” several times over the years, an award given by my San Diego colleagues to the person they would choose as their own family medicine physician.
How I thrive
I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente’s philosophy of health in body, mind, and spirit, and try to incorporate it into my life every day. My family life is a major priority for me, as is keeping balance in my daily life. To me, balance means staying focused when I’m at work, then, at home, relaxing by spending time with my family, horse, and dog.
