Where I practice
Hello, my name is Barry. I thank you for visiting my Web page where I may share with you some background information about myself.
Ever since I was a child, I always wanted to be a physician. I was inspired by the stories told to me by medical missionaries who went abroad to help the poor and the infirmed. They said although their lives overseas were harsh, but that they were immensely rewarded by the fruits of their labor and the people they have helped. The idea of helping others was what ultimately led me to pursue a career in medicine.
About my practice
I personally believe that medicine is a combination of cutting-edge science, art, and human relationships. I try to spend as much time as I can to listen to my patients so I can get to know them and understand their concerns. I like to share with my patients the intricate workings of our bodies, and the reasons why they are having the issues that they do. I am easy going. I approach my patients as if they are my friends or family members.
How I thrive
Exercise is the best medicine and happiness is second. I am very active. I used to play competitive volleyball, and tennis. And I love to ski and lift weights. But due to time constraints with my very busy practice, my exercise routine now consists of lifting weights twice a week (one hour each session) followed by a brisk six-mile run on the treadmill. My other major hobby is video filming, editing and producing, especially of my family events and trips.
