Where I practice
Hello, my name is Amy, and I am a physician in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. I feel fortunate to provide care through Kaiser Permanente to the people of Southern California. I hope you enjoy this opportunity to learn more about me. I look forward to helping you understand your options and to partnering with you in seeking your best life!
I grew up with 3 sisters in Gainesville, Florida. My desire to become a physician was an early one, but I always maintained a strong connection to the arts, as I was an avid ballerina and an English major in college. With the University of Florida in my backyard, I stayed there for college and medical school before heading west. I moved to San Diego to complete residency at UC San Diego, and I have loved getting to know the city and the region.
About my practice
Coming from a family of 4 girls, I had an early interest in women’s health. I find joy in providing care to women through all stages of their reproductive lives, from puberty to menopause. While I love the science of medicine and the complexities of the operating room, I equally enjoy the emotional connections with members. I find the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology particularly rewarding, as I am able to care for members during incredibly intimate and personal times. I view medicine as an extraordinary responsibility, one that I continue to strive to be worthy of.
How I thrive
I am a strong proponent of work-life balance. I feel that enriching my life outside of work allows me to be more focused and present when I care for members. I believe physical activity, through activities such as running, yoga and healthy eating are critical for personal peace and wellness. I also derive a great deal of happiness from quality time spent with family and friends. Finally, I enjoy staying up to date on the issues that affect our community, both locally and globally.
