About me

Welcome to my Web page. I am very pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself and let you know more about my ophthalmology practice. I believe that it is very important for patients to feel comfortable with their physician and hope that this page will help you to get to know me.

I was born in Tehran, Iran. At the age of 12, I went to school in England. I attended college at the University of London and then moved to Los Angeles to complete my undergraduate studies at USC (fight on mighty Trojans!). I also attended medical school at USC. I completed my medical internship at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California, and my ophthalmology residency at the Doheny Eye Institute at USC. I then finished a fellowship in refractive surgery at the Doheny Eye Institute. Both my father-in-law and my brother-in-law are ophthalmologists. While in medical school, I had the opportunity to observe them in surgery and in each of their office practices. Their experience within this field had a positive impact on my decision to pursue a career in ophthalmology.

About my practice

It is very important to me that my patients receive excellent medical and surgical eye care. I also want you to know that it is a privilege for me to serve as your physician. I want you to be able to share your concerns with me. I feel that the communication between a physician and patient is vitally important and I am always willing to answer any questions you may have. With the advancement of medical technology, together with the knowledge from my refractive surgery fellowship, I have the skills and the desire to provide advanced intraocular lens technology to my patients who seek to decrease their dependence on glasses and contact lens after cataract surgery. I am committed to continuing to update my skills and knowledge to provide the most advanced medical care and surgical procedures to my patients and to fulfill our commitment of excellence in our department at Kaiser Permanente.

How I thrive

I feel that a balanced life is very important. Although my practice is very important, another major priority is my family. My wife and I met in medical school and married while in residency. We have two sons. We enjoy traveling together. I love to go fishing with my sons, especially in the Mammoth area. We spend the fall season watching their football games—as well as USC football and the Chargers.
