After my medical training was completed in Phoenix, AZ, I stayed and practiced as a hospitalist while my husband completed his education. The military then decided it was time to transfer my husband to San Antonio, TX. I couldn’t have been happier since I am a born and raised Texas girl. I enjoyed the hospitalist work but missed having a continuity clinic so I joined a primary care clinic with the University of Texas. Unfortunately, my husband was not a Texas fan but we found a mutual love for Colorado. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2009 and have been happy to call Colorado my new home. I enjoy working with a great team that respects and provides me with the opportunity for the perfect work-home balance.
I work half time as an internal medicine physician. I have been with the Briargate Medical Offices since it opened in Colorado Springs in 2009. It has been a pleasure to see the practice grow and form long lasting bonds with my patients and the families. Contrary to the old fashioned medical practice of dictating treatments, my practice is oriented towards providing the patient and family with the most current information in order for us to have an honest discussion on what is the best choice.
My kids are what keep me balanced. My days off are usually spent in the kid's classroom doing math, reading, preparing packets, and I cannot tell you how many tie dye projects I have done. The kids have also made this Texas girl learn to ski and actually enjoy it. I also love to hike in all these beautiful trails Colorado has to offer. Family bike rides which include the dog are always a nice way to wrap up an evening after dinner.
