About Me

Hi, I would like to welcome you to my Web page. I am a pediatric gastroenterologist and I’ve with Kaiser Permanente for over 20 years.

Biography

I was born in South Africa, where I also went to medical school. I moved to the United States almost 30 years ago. I have always had an interest in medicine and felt that treating children would be the most rewarding thing I could do. I completed my pediatric residency in New York and then subspecialized in pediatric gastroenterology at the Children's Hospital Boston, as well as Massachusetts General Hospital. I’m married and have three daughters.

About my practice

Members are referred to me by general pediatricians and family practitioners. I have two registered nurses with whom I closely work. They get to know many of our members as well as I do, particularly those with chronic disorders. Because I am currently the only pediatric gastroenterologist with Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, I work in collaboration with the pediatric gastroenterologists at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego and UC San Diego Medical Center, where I am on the faculty.

How I thrive

I truly believe that physical activity is essential in remaining productive with the hectic lifestyle that we all lead today. I try to run or swim each morning before coming into the office. It keeps me centered and hopefully allows me to be a role model to my members.
