Hello, I am a pediatrician with 34 years of experience taking care of children in Oxnard, Ventura and Camarillo. I was a member of the Buenaventura Medical Group for 25 years, and when the chance to join with Kaiser Permanente arose this past year, I thought that it would be an excellent opportunity to carry on my tradition of personal, high-quality medical care for the children of Ventura County.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, graduated from Westchester High School, and attended UCLA undergraduate and medical school. I completed my training in pediatrics at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance and was the chief administrative resident of the pediatrics program in my final year. I have always wanted be a doctor, and discovered the joy of working with children during my final year in medical school. I have enjoyed the challenge of helping guide children and their parents through the wonder of childhood and adolescence, watching them grow into healthy and happy adults. I have been blessed with a wonderful family: my wife, who grew up in the Philippines, and my two daughters and one son who have completed college. We have always been involved in activities as a family: School outings, youth sports like softball, baseball, volleyball and soccer, as well as travel to help broaden our horizons.
We provide friendly, child-centered medical services. Through a regular program of well visits we are able to address many issues that parents face in raising healthy children. Immunizations are just one aspect of this all- important part of childcare. We pride ourselves in being available to provide advice and treatment for illnesses and injuries, but more importantly, helping you to avoid them whenever possible. What I have found in 34 years of pediatric practice is that there are many different ways to achieve success. I hope to be able to help you find your own path there as well.
I have found that a combination of intellectual stimulation, regular exercise, and a balanced diet have helped me to be healthy and successful at what I do. I keep up with the latest developments in pediatrics through regular reading and conferences, but I enjoy adventure novels and movies as well. I try to work out each morning before work, making it part of my regular routine. And I enjoy a balanced diet that helps provide me the energy to do it all!
