About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am very pleased to introduce myself to you and tell you about my pathology practice. I feel very fortunate to work at the Kaiser Permanente Department of Pathology, where, together with my colleagues, I help care for your health.

Biography

After graduating medical school in Armenia, I decided to come to the United States to practice medicine. For a few years I worked in a basic research laboratory. My projects involved induction of long-term organ survival in transplantation models. I always knew that surgical pathology was my passion. I completed my residency training in combined clinical and surgical pathology at University of California San Diego. I was fortunate to join Kaiser Permanente, where I have a great opportunity to practice medicine and make a difference in people's lives.

About my practice

Surgical pathology is a field of medicine where diseases are diagnosed on the human tissue. The tissue samples that are taken in the doctor's offices or operating rooms arrive to our pathology laboratory where they are processed and tissue samples (slides) are made. We review the slides and then are able to make diagnoses. About 70 percent of treatment decisions are based on pathology diagnoses. I am much honored to be a part of our surgical pathology laboratory team.

How I thrive

Being healthy is very important. I exercise regularly and eat healthy. My family life is my main priority. My husband, daughter and I enjoy family outings and quiet family time at home.
