About Me

In high school, I won a state writing contest with an essay called "I Could Never Be A Doctor." I wrote about my love for biology but my aversion to dissecting frogs, mostly because I couldn't shake the feeling that I was hurting the frog. Even though I proved that essay wrong, I did choose a field that focuses on treating pain because I still don't like seeing anyone or anything suffer.

When my mom had a transient ischemic attack (TIA) a number of years ago, I had to coordinate her care over the phone from across the country. It was a hard job because there was no real communication between her providers. Fortunately, it's different for my patients at Kaiser Permanente. I love that I'm part of a team that is working to provide excellent, coordinated care.

About my practice

One of the best things about my job as an anesthesiologist is that every day is different. One day I could be helping toddlers who need ear tubes. The next day I could be working on the obstetrics floor, placing epidurals for laboring women. The following day I could be doing total joint replacements and using my regional anesthesia skills. I love the variety. I care about your experience as a patient and will work with you to give you the experience you want and deserve. I will listen to understand your questions and concerns, and review your electronic medical record so I can see the big picture of your health. I work as a team with our physicians, pharmacists and others to provide you with coordinated care that meets your needs.

How I thrive

I enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, and paddleboarding with my husband and two sons. I’m a classically trained pianist, and playing music helps me unwind. Even though I spend a lot of time reading children's books with my kids, I make sure to find time for pleasure reading, too.
