Welcome to the Kaiser Permanente experience, and congratulations to you on your pregnancy.
I received a bachelor’s degree in science from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and a medical degree from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I completed my obstetrical and gynecological training at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center. My subspecialty training in maternal-fetal medicine was completed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Harbor–UCLA Medical Center.
I am a board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist—a perinatologist. A perinatologist is an obstetrician with additional training in pregnancies that are complicated by maternal or fetal factors that could lead to less than optimal outcomes. I know this can be an exciting time, but it may also be a time of apprehension. My job is to help reduce your concerns or fears through a collaborative, evidence-based approach to managing your pregnancy. This means that you and I will operate as a team with one goal in mind—to get the best possible outcome for your pregnancy.
To live well is to be in good health with a positive spirit and a sound mind. I strive to achieve that by staying physically active—I’ve completed 15 marathons—and by pursuing spiritual and intellectual fulfillment.
