About Me

I grew up in Oklahoma, received a chemistry degree from Creighton University and moved to Colorado with my husband after college. After four years of teaching high school science and journalism, I changed my career path by attending medical school. For me, one of the most rewarding parts of being a physician is getting to know my patients and using my skills as an educator to make sure patients are informed about their medical conditions and care.

About my practice

As an internist, my practice naturally took a turn toward geriatrics in the 14 years I was at the Lakewood Medical Offices. I developed a passion for geriatric and end-of-life care, thus prompting my career change in 2017 to join the Complex Care Home Rounding team. I am currently seeing homebound, assisted living and long-term care patients in the Lakewood area, by referral only. I continue to practice integrated medicine and focus on what matters to my patients and their families by balancing an evidence-based approach to medicine with their individual conditions and needs. I will listen to your concerns and encourage you to tell me about your symptoms so I can help work toward a diagnosis and treatment plan.

How I thrive

Outside of medicine, I am raising four children and am proud to say I am the ultimate soccer mom, but I am also busy with my kids’ basketball, scouts, music and so much more. I enjoy hiking (particularly with my scouts), scrapbooking and baking with my daughter. To recharge I either run or curl up with a good book. On the weekends you can find me on the sidelines and I try to make as many of my kids’ games as possible. I am active in my church and often teach Sunday school to the 2- and 3-year-olds.
