About Me

I'm David Beverly, an ophthalmologist with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. I received my training in ophthalmology with the United States Navy, where I maintained a practice until retiring in August 2016 and joining the Kaiser Permanente team.

Biography

I spent most of my childhood in the Midwest and lived in Florida during my high school years. After graduating from Duke University, I joined the Navy, where I served as a naval flight officer flying F-14s for 9 years before attending medical school. I served most of my time as a Navy physician in the San Diego area teaching resident ophthalmologists, in addition to a 2-year tour in Japan and a 9-month deployment to Afghanistan.

About my practice

As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, I diagnose and treat diseases of the eye with medications, lasers, and surgery. My primary area of surgical focus is the anterior segment, specifically cataract and pterygium surgeries. I enjoy building partnerships with members, encouraging and empowering them to be active participants in their care.

How I thrive

I enjoy traveling with my wife and spending time with our 2 adult children. I also enjoy staying fit through exercise, hiking, and golf.
