About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am so glad you have taken the time to get to know me better. I am happy to share with you a little about myself and my practice, and look forward to caring for your specific medical needs.

Biography

I came to the United States when I was three years old from Taiwan, so I grew up with Sesame Street. With a family background of singers, I surprised my parents when I decided to pursue medicine. I have always been a "people person." Throughout school, however, I really enjoyed the sciences and was looking for a way to integrate science and humanity. I realized that medicine was just that. After doing my undergraduate studies at Stanford University, I decided to experience the "four seasons" and traveled outside of California to Chicago for medical school. I love building relationships and caring for people's needs, which is why I chose primary care and specifically family medicine so I could care for all ages. I enjoy being a doctor because it is such a privilege to be entrusted with the health of others and to be a part of the healing process, as well as educate and promote healthy living. I haven't forgotten about my background, though, so music has become my biggest hobby.

About my practice

I believe strongly in the importance of the doctor-patient relationship. I like to work together with my patients for their health. My staff and I stress patient education. We also stress preventive care. I think that part of providing good care is being a good listener, so I practice this and encourage my staff on this as well.

How I thrive

Thrive to me means life balance. When I'm not in the office or hospital caring for members, you can find me spending time with my family and friends. Serving at church and in the community is rewarding. Music is also a big part of my life and helps me to recharge. I enjoy singing and I play the piano and guitar. If there's karaoke, I'm there!
