About Me

Thank you for visiting my Web page. I am board-certified in head and neck surgery. I’m a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and currently serve as medical director for Kaiser Permanente here in San Diego.

Biography

Over half a million members rely on us for their health care, and I take that responsibility very seriously. My focus is to ensure that all of our members receive high-quality care. I’m proud to have been a physician at Kaiser Permanente for over 30 years. In addition to being partner of the year in 2005, I received the Schilling Award for compassionate care in 2007. I was elected to the board of directors for Kaiser Permanente’s Southern California region, and I chaired the head and neck division of the American Cancer Society for over 20 years. I've written eight novels—two of which have been published. My wife is also an author.

About my practice

As medical director, I’m privileged to work with caring and skilled physicians, and I’m proud to be part of a team that strives to provide a high level of care and service in our community. I specialize in complex Mohs reconstructions and facial surgery. My goal is to do everything I can to provide high-quality, compassionate surgical care. My philosophy is to treat all of my members as I would my own family.

How I thrive

Henry J. Kaiser once said, “Problems are only opportunities in work clothes.” I believe that the healthier our members are, the healthier we all are. I enjoy snow skiing, tennis, jogging, and working out. My family, friends, and colleagues are extremely important to me, and my relationships with them help model my dedication to my profession.
