About Me

I grew up in Virginia and moved to Denver in 1996 for my pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado. I have always enjoyed working with children and their families so pediatrics was a natural fit for me. I met my husband during residency and we decided to stay in Denver because we both liked the proximity to the mountains and abundance of outdoor activities. I joined the pediatric group at the East Denver Medical Offices in early 2001 and am grateful to have wonderful colleagues who I enjoy working with each day. At home, we have two kids, two dogs and a cat.

About my practice

I enjoy watching children grow and develop from infants to teens and try to form a lasting relationship with my patients and their families. A favorite aspect of my job is that pediatrics is a dynamic specialty where my patients are constantly changing! I value the relationship and trust that is built with children and their families, and I respect their input when making medical decisions. I want children and teens to be involved in their care, ask questions, and learn how to best care for themselves. I try to stay current on new developments and best practices in pediatrics and to learn from my patients every day.

How I thrive

My family and I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including running, biking, skiing and hiking. I run regularly, and try to participate in several half-marathons and triathlons each year. My husband and I both grew up near the ocean and our kids share our love of water, so most of our family vacations involve a beach. We are avid scuba divers and enjoy traveling to new places. I also enjoy cooking and reading while trying to save a little time each day to relax.
