About Me

Hi, and welcome to my Web page. Thank you for taking the time to get to know your health care team.

Biography

I grew up in the small town of Paso Robles on the central coast of California. My husband and I have lived in San Diego since 1998. It is here that I completed both my medical school training and internal medicine residency at UC San Diego. I'm delighted to welcome a new medical student into our clinic every two years to learn from the best teachers—our members! The student physician joins me two afternoons per month, and it's usually enjoyable for everyone involved. I believe Kaiser Permanente is the best place for members to receive high-quality primary care. Our electronic health record allows members to easily connect and collaborate with the doctors involved in their care.

About my practice

I'm a primary care internist at Kaiser Permanente in Carlsbad. I enjoy working with my staff to take care of the health of our members, and I place a strong emphasis on prevention. Personal goal setting during your preventive care visits is a great way for us to start to work together. My time is split between the outpatient setting and the hospital  at Palomar Medical Center, where North County San Diego Kaiser Permanente members are seen. Since 2013, I've enjoyed working with other primary care physicians on physician development particularly regarding communication and the patient experience. It's an extremely high priority to me not only to deliver high-quality medical care, but to make sure our members are treated with compassion.I am a provider that is knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of members with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

How I thrive

I stay balanced by being active with my family. I stay healthy by making time to smile, tickle, play, garden, and be adventurous in the kitchen. Currently my gym is my living room, where I can be found dancing with my kids.
