About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.

Biography

My first recollection of the United States was following groups of children door-to-door in our neighborhood, wearing a paper bag over my head, asking for treats. It was late October and, as I later learned, the occasion was Halloween. This was a typical scene from my childhood as an immigrant from Taiwan. I quickly learned the new language and customs with the help of my cousins and classmates. I grew up in Cerritos with a younger brother and played many sports. I was always somewhere throwing a ball, swinging a racquet, or making a basket. So, naturally, when it came time to choose a field of medicine, I chose a specialty related to what I understood the best. I love what I do and the people I have met along the way. Now, with my young family in tow, I look forward to many years of joy, vigor, and fulfillment.

About my practice

Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect with and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing surgical skills and medical knowledge, but also listening and responding to what they need. Being a doctor allows people to share with me their innermost secrets, fears, and hopes; it is a privilege to help people understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, facilitate getting them the appropriate evaluations, and communicate with them and their families. I feel very honored that members have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.

How I thrive

I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of health in mind, body, and spirit and try to live it in my life every day. I enjoy bike rides with my wife at our local park, taking in a new show at the theater or concert hall, or playing in a weekend softball tournament with friends. I also make time to relax and enjoy a good book or a meal with my wife at our favorite dumpling restaurant.
