About Me

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, I am the oldest of three children. My parents have been happily married for more than 50 years and currently reside in Loveland, CO. I am fortunate to have both my siblings, their respective families, and my parents just a short car ride from my home. Family is very important to me, as are my close friendships and my two big and clumsy dogs, all of which keep me grounded and happy. I enjoy living in Colorado, though I miss the seafood I used to eat when I lived on the East Coast.

About my practice

I got into the psychology field after one of my favorite college professors sparked my interest in the field. I earned my bachelor's degree, then went on to earn my doctorate degree in 1994 in the field of clinical psychology with a concentration in neuropsychology. I have worked in several hospital and medical settings and have gained knowledge about a variety of medical issues and conditions, as well as how physical health and emotional well-being are so strongly connected. I have experience with the chronically mentally ill, forensic populations, stroke and brain injury patients, and those diagnosed with dementia. As such, I especially enjoy working with our aging population.

My aim with patients is to educate them and empower them to play an active role in their treatment, encourage them to learn and use new and helpful skills and techniques, and work toward better overall health. I look forward to educating patients on the benefits of mental health and wellness. Electronic medical records help me to see the big picture of a patient's health, so I can make good use of our time together and answer my patient's questions. I work as a team with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate my patients' care.

How I thrive

In my spare time, I enjoy live music, spending time with friends and family, and playing with my dogs. I love day trips, camping and fishing, hiking, comedy clubs, and photography. Additionally, I love to cook, so I collect healthy cookbooks and try new recipes on a regular basis.
