Welcome to my Web page. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1990 and am currently the lead thoracic surgeon for all of Southern California.
I grew up in Southern California, received my undergraduate education at UC Irvine, and my medical degree from Harvard University in Boston. My general surgical training started in Los Angeles and was completed at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. My thoracic surgery fellowship was done in LA at the Hospital of the Good Samaritan.
My practice has evolved to incorporate much technological advancement. The majority of cases are now done through a minimally invasive approach, which results in fewer complications and more rapid patient recovery. Areas of special interest include emphysema, lung cancer, and esophageal cancer, among others.
I thrive by continuing to enjoy taking care of my patients.
