About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. If you need my emergency care you can expect to see a friendly face. I feel fortunate to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente emergency medicine physician group because everyone in it exemplifies professionalism, compassion and good nature when dealing with emergencies, big or small.

Biography

No one cares how much you know, until they know you care. This was the mantra of my first year of medical school during my ICM (Introduction to Clinical Medicine) and the words still ring true today. I believe when patients come to the Emergency Department, often they are scared, anxious, uncomfortable, concerned, and sometimes frustrated. As physicians, we all have solid medical knowledge, but it's the patient's trust in me to make the right decision that provides the most job satisfaction for me. This trust comes directly from patients knowing I do care and will stand up for them as their advocate.

About my practice

I have always been involved with sports, and the team nature of emergency medicine is paramount to providing good care. We need all parts of our department, including nurses, technicians, case managers, and support staff, working together to make sure we provide a safe and efficient encounter for our patients when they need us most. I am proud to be a part of this team. I believe we provide not only timely care but excellent care too.

How I thrive

I firmly believe in the Kaiser Permanente philosophy of total health. I believe a healthy mind is stimulated and sustained through vigorous exercise. I enjoy mountain biking, trail running, spending time at the beach, and good times with my family and friends. My philosophy is "you get out what you put in" and my motto, which has worked well for me, is "work hard, play hard."
