About Me

Growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii has been a wonderful experience. As a youngster, I was involved in a variety of activities including track, tennis, cross country and speech/debate. My first experience with medical care was as a volunteer at a local hospital in intermediate school. I was fascinated with watching the doctors at work. While attending medical school at the University of Hawaii, I met my husband who I have been married to for over twenty years. We strive to provide the same loving environment and local experiences to our three beautiful children that we had growing up.

About my practice

My interest in medicine was sparked at a young age by my mother, a nurse, who was passionate about her career. She was a determined woman who worked her way from Molokai to Honolulu to Washington State in pursuit of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I have always been interested in women’s health so specializing in obstetrics and gynecology medicine was a perfect match for me. I enjoy working with the women of our communities while helping them learn more about their bodies and what they can do to improve their overall health. As a physician with the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, I am surrounded by a great group of people and I can easily access various subspecialties for my patients when they need it. My philosophy of care is to treat people like family. I enjoy learning about my patients and their families while connecting with them and teaching them the importance of prevention.

How I thrive

I strive to stay fit and exercise as often as I can. Family is of the utmost importance to me and I love spending time with them. I am highly involved with the activities that my children participate in including Girl Scouts and marching band. When I have time for myself, I also enjoy doing arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking.
