Hi, I'm Dr. Curtis Leong. Welcome to my Web page! I hope this page will help you start to get to know me. I am a general pediatrician, and I graduated from medical school in 2011. I want families to be comfortable with me as we work together to care for the health of their children. Everything we do has the same common goal: you and your children staying healthy and happy.
I was born in San Diego but spent most of my formative years in the San Francisco Bay Area before returning to San Diego in 2011 I initially trained as an electrical engineer and computer scientist at UC Berkeley and worked in the Silicon Valley. But I found that my passion was more with kids and health education and thus began the long journey through medical school training.
For me, the most important aspect of being a doctor is having the opportunity to educate and support people and families in some of the most trying times. Staying healthy and doing everything we can to prevent injury and disease is the cornerstone of pediatric care.
"Eat food, not too much, mostly plants" starts one of my favorite books about healthy habits entitled "In Defense of Food" by Michael Pollan. It is an entertaining read that gives context to the society we live in and proposes solutions to some of the health problems we all face. I THRIVE by staying active, eating healthy, and spending time in the great outdoors with my family including our adorable rescue dog, Pepper.
