Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I’m a staff radiologist at the Orange County Anaheim Medical Center. I’ve been with Kaiser Permanente for nearly 30 years.
I’m a native Southern Californian who grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I attended USC for my undergraduate work and received my medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico. I was fortunate enough to have an eighth grade teacher who motivated me in my science studies and started my thinking about medicine as a career choice. Medicine provides me with the reward of constant intellectual challenge, and the gratification of trying to make a positive impact on the world.
My practice consists of general diagnostic radiology, which includes using cross-sectional scanning technology such as CT and ultrasound, as well as nuclear medicine, mammography, and image-guided breast procedures. I also perform high-risk obstetric ultrasounds (level II obstetric ultrasounds) where there are known or suspected abnormalities in a fetus. While we have a very busy practice, I try to ensure that every member I see gets the time and personal attention he or she deserves.
I try to find time to go walking or jogging along the Santa Ana River trail or in the Anaheim Hills area. I enjoy playing golf with my colleagues, and an annual ski trip with friends rejuvenates my spirit. In 2008, my youngest daughter and I went on a medical mission to Honduras—it was a truly exciting, educational, and emotionally rewarding adventure. As an alumnus of USC, attending Trojan football games (including occasional road games) is a great way to keep feeling young and reconnect with many enjoyable memories. And now, as a grandpa, it's an amazing thing to watch my little grandchild growing up. I'm really looking forward to sharing fun times with him in the years to come.
