Hello, and welcome to my Webpage. My name is Sergio Torres and I joined Kaiser Permanente's division of internal medicine as a hospitalist in August 2016.
I grew up in Monterrey, Mexico and completed medical school there. I moved to the U.S. to do research and later complete my training in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. I chose to pursue a career in medicine because our health is the most valuable thing we have. My job is to help our patients stay as healthy as possible and aid them in the recovery process after illness.
I am part of the hospitalist group at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. We help our patients when they are too ill to be cared for at home and need to stay in the hospital for treatment. We focus on getting our patients back on their feet so that they can continue to enjoy their lives at home with their loved ones.
As health care providers we must practice what we preach. I enjoy getting my exercise outdoors. Cycling, hiking, and rock climbing are my preference.
