About Me

I grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa where my extended family still lives and we go to visit often. I traveled to Virginia for my training, but knew I wanted to be more in the center of the country for the long haul. My position with Kaiser Permanente brought me to Colorado, and I tell you what, it is definitely where I call home now! I have known ever since I was a little girl that I wanted to practice medicine. I just love the healing art of it all, and the deep connections that can happen when working with people regarding their health. I especially find this true in Ob/Gyn. I get to walk with women through all phases of their lives - from having babies to menopause and everything in between and after. And what an amazing journey it is! I was honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2018.

About my practice

In caring for women, I believe in looking at the person as a whole. I believe in focusing on a healthy lifestyle when dealing with health maintenance exams and health problems. Many of the issues we face can be fixed with better self care, so I like to encourage my patients and provide support. I enjoy a dynamic obstetrics practice and love the relationships forged there. I perform many surgical procedures, with my specialty being advanced laparoscopic techniques. I pride myself on being able to do difficult surgical cases via this approach and significantly reducing my patients' recovery time and pain.

How I thrive

My other full-time job is being a mom to an amazing little girl! It is just so wonderful to see the world through a child's eyes and foster her growth. I love yoga, hiking, running, biking and swimming. In fact, I did my first triathlon recently and am looking forward to doing many more. In the winter, my daughter and I spend a lot of time skiing and snowshoeing. I also love traveling and exploring, whether it is in beautiful Colorado or abroad.
