I have lived in Oregon for over 15 years and enjoy the great North West and its lovely people. I started in private practice on the southern Oregon Coast where I met my husband, a firefighter for the city. We relocated to the Salem area 7 years ago and enjoy this community, though I do miss the beach! I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three young kids, visiting extended family, going to sporting events including Oregon Duck football games, and traveling with my family.
I have always been interested in science and medicine and have worked with children in many capacities since middle school, so practicing pediatric medicine was a perfect fit for me. I practice full spectrum pediatrics including procedures, and inpatient and out patient medicine. I work closely with my medical assistant, nurses, and pediatric colleagues in primary and specialty care to provide the best care for our Salem patients.
To gain some balance in my life, I started attending martial arts classes with my children a couple years ago. In additional to spending time with my kids, I have benefitted greatly from this aspect of my life, both physically and mentally. My personal goal is to earn my black belt in the next year. My other passion in life is being very active in cancer awareness and fundraising. Three years ago, I helped start the local outreach group for the national organization FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered)and am one of two local outreach coordinators. I have participated in numerous fundraising cancer walks across the country, including seven 60 mile breast cancer walks. My saying is... as long as there is cancer, I will keep on walking.
