Hello! I am a family physician at the Kaiser Permanente Yorba Linda Medical Offices. Please read on to find out more about me!
I grew up in Irvine as an only child of Chinese immigrants. I first became interested in medicine during my undergraduate education at UCLA. I initially wanted to become a psychiatrist because I was fascinated by human behavior, but in medical school, I loved everything and eventually decided to become a family physician because of the broad scope of practice. I completed my residency with Kaiser Permanente in Orange County, and I truly believe that Kaiser Permanente approach to health care is the future of medicine. Besides medicine, I am interested in running (I have done several half-marathons), roller coasters (I have ridden hundreds of coasters throughout the world), hiking, and watching the LA Kings win Stanley Cups. Oh, and go Bruins!
I went into family medicine so I could see kids and adults alike. I see patients four years old and up, so whether you're a young child, a great-grandparent, or somewhere in between, I can be your primary care physician. I believe in the power of prevention, so I make sure all my patients are up to date on cancer screening, vaccinations, and lab tests. I also believe in the power of teamwork: I think the patient and their doctor should work together and make decisions together.
I believe the keys to staying healthy are staying active, eating right, and doing everything in moderation. I exercise and meditate regularly, stay away from cigarettes, and eat healthy (most of the time—I can't resist an In-N-Out Burger every once in awhile).
