About Me

Hello, and thank you for visiting my Kaiser Permanente Web page!

Biography

I grew up in Southern California after my family moved from the East Coast. Like most physicians, I entered the profession to be able to help people. I have many interests, including sports, music, literature, and current events. I am always interested in learning new things, and I’ve learned much from my patients over the years. Also, I was a Kaiser Permanente member before I became a physician, which helps me see things from the patient’s perspective.

About my practice

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1997 after finishing my residency at UC Irvine. I am a physiatrist (pronounced: fizz-ee-at-rist), a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Rehabilitation emphasizes the improvement of function and adaptation to limitations caused by medical conditions. I also have a subspecialty certification in pain management, so part of my practice is in treating chronic painful conditions.

How I thrive

I believe the key to staying well is living a healthy lifestyle. This includes exercising regularly, making healthy food choices, and getting restful sleep. I encourage my patients to make similar choices. I also believe in the saying that “laughter is the best medicine,” as humor can help lift the spirit.
