About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I'm very pleased to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente, partly because of how much I enjoy colleagues and patients, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.

Biography

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and attended public schools, including the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Long Island, and the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. I wanted to become a doctor from the time I was a young boy; Dr. Kildare and Dr. Ben Casey of television fame were my role models. I went on to become a family physician so that I could take care of a variety of medical problems and get to know my patients over a long period of time. I moved to Los Angeles after medical school to do my residency in family medicine at UCLA Medical Center; I also wanted to play tennis year-round and enjoy the wonderful weather and some time in the sun.

About my practice

I enjoy treating all age groups and all medical problems while getting to know my patients. Additionally, I am always gratified to help guide them through the maze of information about new medicines, supplements, and technology that all of us receive (both patients and health care providers alike). A large part of my professional satisfaction comes from my involvement with medical students and residents and the opportunities this provides to both teach them and learn from them.

How I thrive

I am a strong believer in the power and health benefits of exercising vigorously; it provides both a physical and a mental sense of well-being. I personally spend four to five hours a week on a stair machine at the gym, and every year I feel like I am getting younger. More than 25 years after moving to Los Angeles from New York, I still enjoy my time in the sun. However, I no longer play tennis. My family is here and I love Los Angeles.
