About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I’m a general pediatrician with nearly 30 years of experience in my field. I have a special interest in adolescent health. On behalf of our team of pediatricians in Bakersfield, we look forward to your visit and to serving your health care needs for outpatient and inpatient services.

Biography

I moved from the Midwest about 25 years ago to join Kaiser Permanente in Kern County. I have a very large extended family. Outside of my work and family life, much of my time is involved with my church and community projects. For two years, I had oversight of a community tutorial program for school-aged children, teens, and one bilingual adult student. I currently help sponsor a similar program for at-risk youth. In 2007, I also helped organize a community health fair for an underserved community in Bakersfield. For many years, I have given my time and financial support to community events that benefit at-risk youth. Last year I began mentoring teens with interests in photography and videography.

About my practice

In my practice, I care for members from birth until their 18th birthday. Many of my former members bring their own children to see me. My time with Kaiser Permanente has given me the opportunity to collaborate with a team of physicians with a wide range of experience, so I can offer my members not only my personal expertise but also what I have learned from my colleagues. Our pediatric team shares calls 24 hours per day, every day of the week—so we can take care of your health.

How I thrive

I enjoy the adventure of living. Whether I’m by myself or with others, my life is never dull. I cherish the moments I spend with my family and friends. I particularly appreciate people who make an effort to eat healthy, take care of themselves, and give moral support to one another. I love taking pictures. With photography, I can capture moments that express what makes us individuals and the precious shared events that we never want to forget—like the smile of a parent with their newborn child.
