About Me

Hi! My name is Dr. Jalbuena. If you are having trouble saying that, you can simply call me “Dr. J.” I am happy to welcome you to my Web page.

Biography

I was born and raised in the Philippines. I am a nurse and a medical doctor rolled into one. I moved to the United States in 2004 and initially worked as an intensive care unit nurse in a Glendale, California, hospital. I then finished my internal medicine internship and residency at LA County-USC Medical Center. Helping the poor, the sick, the sick poor, and the elderly is my passion. It sprang from my childhood goal to "make the world a better place to live in."

About my practice

After residency training, I stayed and served in one of the depressed communities in Los Angeles for 5 years prior to moving to Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City. As my family grows, it deserves more time and attention from me. I am now a father of 2. I am fortunate to have found Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City, where I can continue working and doing what I am passionate about while maintaining balance with family life.

How I thrive

Maintaining harmony between personal and family life, work, and community service, and keeping a positive outlook in life are the things that keep me going. Life isn't perfect and will never be, but wearing a smile no matter what and being kind to others makes a huge difference.
