Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.
I was born in the Philippines but immigrated to the United States as a toddler. I grew up in Southern California and received my bachelor's and master's degrees at UCLA. After graduate school, I moved to Washington, DC, to attend medical school at George Washington University in Washington, DC, and then came back to California to be closer to my family. I completed my residency in head and neck surgery at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. During my training, I decided to remain and practice within the Kaiser Permanente system. After my residency, I immediately started working at Kaiser Permanente in Kern County (Bakersfield), and practiced there for eight years before transferring to the South Bay Medical Center in 2007.
As a head and neck surgeon, I enjoy the scope of practice and the wide member age range that this specialty encompasses—newborns to the elderly. This specialty allows me to use my problem-solving skills as well as my surgical skills to improve member health. I believe that members should play an active role in medical decision-making, and I look forward to helping you with your health care needs.
Through Kaiser Permanente, I met my husband (an ophthalmologist) and we now have two children. When not busy, I enjoy traveling, exercising, swimming, watching Bruins football, and going to the symphony.
