About Me

Hi, my name is Mitzi. I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.

Biography

I am a lifelong learner that loves to work with children and their families and others in their communities to better their welfare. As for my education, I started college at 15. I first completed a bachelor’s degree in biology. My love for learning led me to graduate school, where I earned a Master of Public Health degree with a major in epidemiology, as well as a Ph.D. in epidemiological science (the science that studies the patterns, causes, and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations). Later on I decided to become a physician to combine my love for epidemiology with my desire to help others. So here I am, working at Kaiser Permanente as a pediatrician. This is my passion and I really enjoy it !

About my practice

Pediatrics as a career is a very special opportunity to connect and help children and their families in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what they need. Being a pediatrician allows kids to share with me their innermost secrets, fears, and hopes; it is a privilege to help patients understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, facilitate getting them the appropriate evaluations, and communicate with them and their families. I feel very honored that patients have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.

How I thrive

I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of health in body, mind, and spirit, and I try to live it in my life every day. My family life is my major priority.
