About Me

I grew up in Kirkland, Washington and wanted to become a doctor since high school. I was always interested in science and wanted to be able to help people in a practical way. I was fortunate to be able to stay in Washington for all my training, including my residency in Spokane. Although I enjoined that area, I wanted to come back to western Washington and practice in a smaller town, but still be close to my extended family in the Seattle area. My wife and I have lived in Longview for 26 years now. We have two grown children.

About my practice

As a family medicine physician, I have the opportunity to care for all age ranges and to deal with a wide variety of medical problems. It is important to focus on the care of the whole person, not just a particular organ system. I emphasize prevention as the key to a long, healthy life.

How I thrive

I thrive by taking time for my health, through a healthy diet, regular aerobic exercise, keeping my weight normal, and allowing down time to relax and refresh the mind. I enjoy running regularly, and I will try to take a walk over the lunch hour. My other interests include boating, hiking and biking. I enjoy volunteering at youth camps and have done medical missionary work in Honduras. I also enjoy staying active in my local church.
