About Me

I grew up in Gujarat, India, and moved to the United States when I was 15. I earned my bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from the University of Illinois, Chicago. It was during my bioengineering studies that I really came to appreciate the amazing beauty and complexity of the human physiology and decided to pursue a career in medicine. I attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and went on to complete my internal medicine residency at the University of Washington, Seattle. I moved back to Rockford, Illinois, and worked in a community health center providing care to underserved individuals including the homeless, the uninsured and those with Medicaid. I also practiced HIV medicine and served as the medical director of the “Living With HIV” program. I moved to Denver in the summer of 2012 and joined Kaiser Permanente in early 2013. I am board certified in internal medicine and am an active member of the American College of Physicians and Colorado Medical Society. I speak two Indian languages – Hindi and Gujarati.

How I thrive

I love to cook, travel and spend time with my lovely wife and Labrador retriever. I enjoy the great outdoors and amateur nature photography.
