About Me

I grew up in Minnesota and moved out to the Portland metro area with my family after completing my education and training. This has been our home now for over 30 years, and the beautiful Pacific Northwest is what keeps us here. I wanted to be a physician since 10th grade. Being a physician is a very privileged career, and I find it extremely gratifying and fulfilling to be able to take care of peoples' medical needs. As Mother Teresa has said, "A life not lived for others is not a life."

About my practice

I've worked as a family physician for about half of my career, where I did the full scope of family medicine, including obstetrics and inpatient care. I worked on an Indian reservation in northern Minnesota for two years and did medical work in Pakistan and India for three and a half months. I've done volunteer work throughout my career, which I continue to do. These days, I'm happy to see patients in the urgent care setting.

How I thrive

Rosa Parks said, "Each person must live their life as a model for others." Sound advice, which I try to follow by keeping physically fit, exercising at least 30 minutes, five days a week. For my emotional health, I enjoy several hobbies — my top two are birdwatching and fly fishing. Spiritually, I start each day with a time of prayer and meditation. All these things help to ensure my top performance at work and at life in general.
